Master Lane has been personally trained by martial arts legend and movie star Chuck Norris for many years and has been in the Chuck Norris system for 45 years.
His peers have inducted Master Lane 15 times into the World, International, National, Action, Florida Gold Coast and USA Martial Arts Halls of Fame.
As a competitor, he won hundreds of tournament titles, including the 1975-76-77 US Open Tae Kwon Do & Karate Champiohships. In 1975 he won the GrandChampionship defeating all the other weight champions. In January 1976 he was to fight World TKD and kicboxer, Michael Warren. But just seconds before the fight at ringside Danny was told that Michael Warren would not be fighting him. He was told a professional boxer and kickboxer named Geroge Mohamed was to fight Danny instead for the world title. It was told that Mohamed had more than 40 professional fights in boxing. When the fight began the packed audience gave Danny little chance. It showed in the firwst round with Danny going down for an 8 count. Furious with the set up, Danny came out in the second round and began to exchange puch for punch with Mohamed. Mohamed went down several times in that round. What was billed as a 7 round fight, Danny came out in the round with a vengence. Chasing Mohamed around he finally knocked him down again with a vicious combibation. After a minute at least Mohamed was counted out. Danny won the World Lightweight Full Contact & Kickboxing Championship and $5000.00. He immediately left the TKD organization that sponsored the event and went out on his own.
In October 1980 Danny got a phone call from Chuck Norris. Norris asked him to come to LA to work out with him. The rest is history of their 44 year relationship.
Danny went on to win nine (9) National Karate and Taekwondo Championships, the 1994 National Jiu-Jitsu Championship, and (NAKC). ) North American Karate Conference Championship. He retired undefeated as a world-ranked professional kickboxer.
Master Lane has traveled the world, competing and exhibiting his martial arts skills in Korea, Japan, Thailand, Spain, Europe, Russia, England, Mexico, South America, Cuba, Canary Islands and Africa.
Master Lane is a former US Marine and small arms specialist. He received many awards during combat, receiving two Purple Hearts and a Bronze Star during the Vietnam War.
He is also a retired police officer, having served in numerous capacities: patrol officer, S.W.A.T. Team member, major crime detective (murder, robbery, rape, grand larceny, forgery, etc.), tactical unit leader, and training academy instructor. He is an international police defensive tactics instructor and expert in police and military defensive tactics. He is the president of the American Police Tactical Instructors.
